Being the new kid at school can be challenging, but being a new parent can be difficult, as well. Figuring out the drop-off and pick-up routines, checking "Fast Direct" (school email) and paying for school lunches can be overwhelming to parents who are new to Immanuel. One of the main goals of ILS's new Parent Advisory Team (PAT) is to ensure that new families feel welcome, connected, and informed. PAT members will be paired up with new ILS families to help them navigate their first year at ILS. If you are not a "new-to-Immanuel" parent but still feel like you are "learning the ropes," please contact us, and we will be happy to help.
PAT will also serve as forum for parental input on various issues and policies at ILS. We will partner with the School Administration, PTL, Board of Directors and Other Ministry Action Teams with the ultimate goal of pursuing a quality Christian education for each of our children.
Look for updates on what we are doing in the Eagle Weekly.
To get involved: Join us at one of our meetings or events, or contact us via email (patilcsw@gmail.com) see how you can be a part of this ministry at ILS. You may also message the PAT through Fast Direct, on the Teacher/Staff drop-down menu.
Announcements:
Thank you
to all the parents who attended the fashion show featuring our new school
uniforms on Wednesday. We hope you enjoyed the show! Please note that the
models were wearing uniforms that needed to be returned to the school, and that
is why the skirts appeared so long. It is perfectly acceptable to have
the skirts hemmed to fit. Fischer's does have a seamstress who will do the
hemming for you for a charge. Uniform Policy says the following: "ImmanuelWear
pants, shorts, skirts and skorts will be worn at the natural waistline and at
an appropriate length." Fischer's School Uniforms (626
Jungerman Road in St. Peters) will be hosting a Spring Fitting during the week
of May 13 - 18. This event will be an opportunity to order uniforms for the
fall. Fischer's sizes the children for growth over the summer.
After many months of discussions, meetings, a survey, and much deliberation, the Parent Advisory Team has approved a motion to recommend to the School Administration to offer school uniform choices from Fischer's Uniforms, which are detailed in the link below.
